Rainbow Preschool and Childcare is located on Route 119 in Townsend, Massachusetts. The Center opened in 1988. Rainbow was built to meet the needs of young children. There are five separate classrooms, which are all designed and equipped for the various stages of childhood.         As the children grow it is an easy transition to the next classroom. There are four playgrounds and a pool for swimming lessons in the summer. Whether inside or outside equipment is age appropriate to offer challenge and stimulation.         The rooms are bright and attractively divided into areas for group work, play and quiet time. The Center is decorated to give a homelike atmosphere. The children have their own cubbies for special possessions and their own room and teacher to give them a place to call their own. Thus, we offer the advantages of a large center and still provide the warmth and attention of a family style setting.         Our Executive Director is Hollie Simao. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in a double major of Early Childhood Education and Psychology from Fitchburg State College. She has been at Rainbow since January of 1993 and has taught in all the classrooms before becoming the director.
