    This is a time of enormous growth emotionally, socially and physically. Children need to be able to grow in these areas as well as have the opportunity to think, discover and create. This age is very interested in learning about their world. They are eager to acquire new knowledge and skills. We provide them with areas to play and explore. We guide them through their day to help them grow. We spend time with them on premath and prereading skills, arts and crafts, physical activities (both fine motor and gross motor), cooking projects, music, and field trips, beginning science, and beginning social studies. The children are exposed to the curriculum through lesson and art times which they share with small groups and their teacher. They also experience the curriculum through play centers. At Rainbow we learn that it is fun to grow and learn in a variety of ways. We learn from playing and from each other.
